Cradley Heath based Repose Furniture, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of bespoke seating solutions is delighted to be supporting the 2018 Big Brum Sleep Out homeless charity. On the night of Friday November 30th six members of staff will be taking part in the annual event which is arranged by Birmingham based charity St Basils and takes place in the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral.
Emily Husband, Repose’s Customer Services Manager is behind the company’s involvement as she explains: Whether we are on our way to work, shopping or on a night out we all see homeless people on a daily basis and this is a situation any one of us or our friends or family could find ourselves in through no fault of their own. By taking part and sleeping outside for just one night we will experience the difficulties that homeless people encounter every night and when I suggested taking part to some of my colleagues they all agreed it was a great idea. We are now busy trying to raise as much sponsorship as possible for this fantastic charity”. St Basils houses over 1000 young people in Birmingham and over 1500 across the West Midlands in its 34 supported accommodation schemes. The charity also helps thousands more young people with face to face support and advice, but due to government cuts these services are at risk. St Basils has to raise £1 million this year and the BIG Brum SleepOut is its largest event of the year. You can learn more about the event here: https://stbasils.org.uk/sleepout/
“On behalf of everyone here at Repose, I would like to congratulate Emily for arranging our involvement in this incredibly worthwhile cause and urge everyone to sponsor the team as they do their bit to help St Basils hit their £1 million target this year” commented Lisa Wardley, Managing Director Repose Furniture.
