New orthosis gives stroke survivors and people with neurological conditions more options to facilitate movement and increase control over hands, wrists and fingers.
Ottobock’s newly-launched Manu Neurexa plus sets a new standard for treatment with wrist orthoses, supporting the function and/or the positioning of the wrist, hand and finger structures. The orthosis is primarily suitable for patients who have lost control over their wrist, hand and fingers as a result of neurological conditions including stroke, MS or tetraplegia.
Function and effects
The Manu Neurexa plus stabilises and supports the wrist and hand in a natural, neutral position. This encourages active movement, since the more the hand is used and the earlier rehabilitation is started, the more mobility is restored.
- Supports the wrist in a position that maximises function and allows continuous adjustment
- Limits the movement of the hand in the palmar direction. The hand can be held with either palmar or volar support
- Supports the patient’s gripping ability
- Can relieve pain
- Can prevent mal-positioning
- Suitable for overnight positioning in combination with the hand support rest
- Designed for single-handed application
- Orthosis is comfortable to wear with a lightweight design and soft TriTech climate-regulating material
- Protects the hand and wrist joint against external influences
Combination with Omo Neurexa plus
For the first time, a significant increase in functionality can be achieved by combing the Manu Neurexa plus with Ottobock’s shoulder orthosis, the Omo Neurexa plus, to form a shoulder-elbow-wrist-hand orthosis (SEWHO).
