Closomat has announced the first in its series of CPD-qualifiying summer webinars for occupational therapists and adaptations teams. The first will cover bathroom design to support adults and children with sensory needs and will be aired on Thursday 18 June at 11.00am, with registration available online:

The learning session will cover

  • occupations that clients engage in within the bathroom environment
  • the impact of the environment on engagement with a focus on those with sensory needs
  • a specific focus on child developmental theory to consider tasks such as toileting and bathing
  • how routines, equipment and minor and major adaptations can be used to maximise engagement in personal care, play, sleep and relationships through the transition into adulthood.

Presented by occupational therapist Kate Sheehan, director of The OT Service and former chair of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section on Housing, the webinar will cover how to ensure adaptations efficiently manage a client’s lifetime need, whilst balancing available resources and Disabled Facilities Grant budget.

Comments Stephen Edwards, Closomat head of marketing: “We do advise people to reserve their places early: one of our spring series was oversubscribed by 50% and we had to turn people away!”

Reserve your place by registering in advance to avoid disappointment:
