Global medical products distributor Algeos has announced the launch of two new products in collaboration with Standard Engineering – bringing together more than 250 years’ experience of orthotic & orthopaedic footwear technology.
The machines are called Aortha Salford and Aortha Strathclyde after the two leading O&P universities in the UK.
Like all Aortha products, the machines have been designed and manufactured in the UK combining the latest innovation and technology.
Aortha Salford combines super-efficient dust extraction with low noise, ease-of-use and maintenance and meets all Orthopaedic workshop requirements. It is suitable for podiatrists, orthotists and insole manufacturers.
Aortha Strathclyde is designed for the manufacturer of footwear adaptions, orthopaedic footwear, leather and plastics. Again, this model combines extra powerful dust extraction with low noise, ease-of-use and maintenance, though it is designed with orthotists and technicians in-mind.
Aortha Strathclyde also offers a full 100mm wide scouring band facility or a bayonet fitting to increase the range of finishing options.

Algeos will also be exhibiting a comprehensive range of other Aortha products including its innovative 3D insole printing technology, Orthaprint and Orthaflex, which can print a pair of insoles in less than 60 minutes.
Also on display will be the extensive range of Aortha Lams, pre-laminated combination sheets combining PORON and other selected orthotic materials such as EVA & Plastazote for a wide range of patient conditions. These applications can increase the speed of the manufacturing process and are ready to use straight from the shelf.
