splintExperts from the fields of occupational therapy, physiotherapy, orthotics and biomechanics have come together to produce new guidelines for splinting and casting. The document, called ‘Splinting for the prevention and correction of contractures in adults with neurological dysfunction’, was developed using a NICE accredited process and is the first time the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and the College of Occupational Therapists have jointly produced recommendations.

Dr Cherry Kilbride, senior lecturer in physiotherapy and department director for research at Brunel University London headed up the project. To find out more visit the Brunel University website here.
