A pre-school group in Barnet, which provides life-enhancing play activities and support to children aged up to five, with impairments, has been heralded as a success.

The ‘Mini Explorers Sensory Group’, run by disability charity Sense at the Sense Family Centre in Barnet, launched in April and has offered families the opportunity to access a range of different experiences for their children. This includes messy play, sensory stories, music and massage. It enables families to learn new skills to support their child’s play and exploration development.

Natalie Cabrera, Children and Family Support Worker for Sense, said:

“We’re really pleased with how successful the group has been. Children from the area have experienced different sensory experiences each week and it has helped them to develop through play, which is essential for emotional, social and physical development.”

The pre-school group runs every Thursday during term time, from 10.30 – 12pm and is free to attend. To book a place or learn more about ‘The Mini Explorers Sensory Group’, please contact Natalie Cabrera on 07866986411 or email Natalie.Cabrera@sense.org.uk.
